After 10 years of doing digital illustrations, it was time to try my hand at good ol' fashioned oil painting. Everything was going fine - until I had the bright idea of adding a coat of tinted linseed oil over the entire canvas. Unfortunately, when the linseed oil dried, it had left a yellowing "chicken feet" texture over the entire surface. Dismayed, the painting sat untouched for years. Feeling re-inspired, I had the original painting photographed with a 4"x5" camera, and digitally scanned on a high resolution drum scanner. The resulting image was then completely repainted in Photoshop to fulfill my original vision.
